The ATSF – Colorado Division – First and Second Districts is based on southeastern Colorado in 1948 and 1949. As this was the Santa Fe’s passenger mainline to California, the layout features many passenger trains. The time period allows for an even mix of steam and 1st generation diesels with most freights and a few passenger trains powered by steam. The focal point of the railroad is Holly, Colorado where the eastern terminus of the Second District was located. The layout is point to point with 2 staging areas and yards at La Junta, Colorado and Dodge City, Kansas.
